Hedcor Sibulan – Tudaya in Davao del Sur
Aboitiz Renewables received multiple recognitions at the 20th Energy Safety, Health, and Environment Conference hosted by the Safety and Health Association of the Philippines Energy Sector (SHAPES) and the Department of Energy. The awards reflect zero workplace incidents across several renewable energy facilities nationwide.
Five Aboitiz Renewables facilities were honored for achieving sustained “Zero Lost Time Incidents”: the Tiwi Geothermal Plant in Albay (16 years); Hedcor Sibulan, Inc. – Tudaya in Davao del Sur (11 years); San Carlos Sun Power in Negros Occidental (eight years); the MakBan Geothermal Plant in Laguna and Batangas (seven years); and Hedcor Bukidnon, Inc. in Manolo Fortich (four years).
“These numbers represent thousands of hours of safe shifts where our team members returned home safely to their families,” said Aboitiz Renewables Chief Operating Officer Alexander Coo. “Safety is not just a priority for us; Safety, Health, and Environment or SHE is in our DNA. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and continue strengthening our practices across all operations.”

The conference also recognized five “Outstanding Safety and Health Professionals” from Aboitiz Renewables: Tiwi Geothermal Plant Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager Jim Rey Recierdo; Hedcor Sibulan Occupational Safety and Health Supervisor Annie Rhie Esguerra; San Carlos Sun Power Grid Manager Dave Pinote; Makban Geothermal Plant Safety, Health and Environmental Manager Jud Torres; and Hedcor Bukidnon Resource Supervisor Brian Gam.
During the conference, Aboitiz Renewables showcased its SHE programs to fellow energy companies in the Philippines, sharing best practices and industry insights. These programs include the Electronic Permit-to-Work (e-PTW) system — an in-house digital platform that helps eliminate paperwork errors; the Workplace Activities Targeting the Control of Hazards (WATCH) App for mobile hazard identification; the HealthyMe, HealthyAPRI framework for occupational health monitoring; and the KAISA program that aligns contractors with safety standards. Aboitiz Renewables’ safety culture is anchored on the principle: “Make it Safe. Make it Personal. Make it Home.” This principle emphasizes personal responsibility and vigilance in maintaining a zero-incident workplace.
