At the 2018 Investors in People Awards ceremony, Republic Cement was awarded the Investors in People Silver level accreditation, the highest conferred honor of the event held at SMX Convention Center in Taguig City.
Investors in People is a standard for people management, founded on the belief that good people, together with excellent leadership and management, make a great business.

To achieve accreditation, organizations are assessed against themes and indicators, leading to an award level of standard, bronze, silver, gold or platinum, representing the level of performance achieved. Assessment is carried out using surveys, interviews, meetings, and observations. Republic Cement outperformed the average scores for manufacturing companies globally in every indicator.
We concluded that while Republic Cement focuses on ensuring that capacity expansion activities are well and safely executed. The company still continues to prioritize community, environment and social responsibility.

Mr. Wills was also among the featured speakers and presented on Building Innovation Through Risk-taking, which was about balancing courage with risk, by giving employees room to innovate and learn from their mistakes.
“The Republic philosophy on learning and innovation has given birth to many solutions formulated in-house and based on sharing our experiences from both young and more seasoned employees,” Mr. Wills shares. “I may have the honor to stand here today, but I am merely the cheerleader of our many team members who made this happen.”
