Aboitiz Land And Aboitiz Foundation Champion Marine Conservation Through Coastal Cleanup Of San Juan Shores

150 volunteers participated  in the clean-up across members of the Aboitiz Group, CORA, local barangay leaders and their communities.

Aboitiz Land and Aboitiz Foundation reaffirmed their role in marine conservation last September 20 with SEALANDER Thriving Tides, a large-scale coastal clean-up initiative set along the shores of Barangays Calubcub II and Subukin in San Juan, Batangas. The coastal clean-up activity was part of this year’s International Coastal Cleanup Day, in partnership with CORA Non-Profit and Aboitiz Foundation, once again uniting volunteers, partner organizations, and local stakeholders in a collective effort to combat marine debris and protect the rich marine biodiversity of San Juan

Mobilizing Communities for the Planet

150 volunteers, including Aboitiz team members, local barangay leaders, residents, students, and national agencies, came together in the removal, segregation, and documentation of over 70 kilograms of coastal waste in just one morning. Beyond clean-up activities, the program featured educational sessions on waste management, plastic reduction, and sustainable practices, reinforcing Aboitiz Land’s commitment to the long-term environmental stewardship of its communities.

Over 70 kilograms of marine debris, mostly mixed waste and glass, were cleaned from the shores of San Juan.

As an ongoing and consistent initiative, SEALANDER Thriving Tides goes beyond awareness campaigns, it’s an effective driver of community action. It has become Aboitiz Land’s platform for building resilient partnerships, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and inspiring sustainable action to safeguard coastal ecosystems, the participation of its team members highlighting its vision of developing communities that not only thrives in harmony with nature but also actively contributes to its preservation.

Aboitiz Land’s commitment to addressing immediate coastal challenges is also the focal point of its award-winning Pawikan Conservation efforts, a long-standing and on-going initiative safeguarding the nesting grounds of endangered sea turtles along the San Juan coast. laying down lasting strategies for marine conservation.
