According to LinkedIn, success is the status of having achieved and accomplished an aim or objective. Beyond words, what does success truly mean? Is it the amount of money in your bank account or the feeling of being able to provide? Is it your position title or is it the number of people you inspire? Each one of us can have our own meaning of success, but what is the secret behind finding success through the eyes of happiness?
Here in Aboitiz, we believe that every story has its own version of success which can be shared to inspire others. One of the strong believers of this is our very own, Saved with Amazing Grace (SWAG) Team, one of the pioneer A-Clubs. In this world full of high standards, we find ways on how we can be happy and content.

Last June 25, the SWAG Team, organized a simple forum at the Caf8 that talked about success and how we can be successful in our own ways. Attendees were from the different business units namely: Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc., AboitizPower, AboitizLand, SN Aboitiz Power, Therma Luzon, Inc., Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc., Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., and Pilmico Foods Corporation. Two of the best leaders here in Aboitiz, Joseph Yu, President of SN Aboitiz Power and Alex Coo, COO of APRI and Sacasun, joined the forum as guest speakers to share their stories on what makes them successful.
Doing these things well – This means humbling ourselves to be His instruments and then relying on God’s wisdom and strength to get things done. If I can say, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith (2 Tim 4:7), then I can say I have succeeded.
– Joseph Yu, President, SN Aboitiz Power
Personal success for me starts with understanding our purpose. With clarity of purpose, we should work with excellence….” Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Col 3:23). Life’s ups and downs will always be part of our journey… we need to have persistence and perseverance and not lose the big picture (our life’s purpose). At the end of it all, as long as we put God first, everything follows (Prov.3:6).
– Alex Coo, COO, AboitizPower Renewables, Inc. and Sacasun
Another highlight of the forum was the participation of motivational speaker from Victory Christian Fellowship, Jeff Eliscupidez. For Jeff, the true meaning of success is being genuinely happy in what you do and what you do for others.
To achieve genuine happiness, you must have the right formula which are integrity of heart and skillful hands.
– Jeff Eliscupidez
Jeff explained this through the story of King Solomon, a fabulously wealthy and wise King of Israel who succeeded his father, King David. King Solomon, who had skillful hands as a leader but did not have the integrity of heart to follow the Lord’s words on his remaining days. He was rich and successful but he became lonely when he abandoned the Lord.
In life, the true meaning of success is genuine happiness. We hope you find genuine happiness here in Aboitiz through advancing business and communities.
