Let’s Meet The A-Club 2020 Family

The Aboitiz Group knows how to mix work and fun together. Now on it’s third year, the A-Club Program is back, and this time, as a bigger family! The A-Club Program’s mission is to provide our A-People a gateway to socialize and meet A-People outside of their teams and business units through a common interest or hobby.

From 13 clubs in 2019, A-Club’s family is even bigger this 2020 with a total of 17 official clubs with different interests to cater to more people!

The A-Club Program

Established in 2018, the A-Club Program was set up for the A-People to  freely develop and share their interests and talent outside of their job roles with other Team Leaders and Team Members within the group. This is done and supported in  an environment that is fostered by one of Aboitiz’s core values– teamwork. Moreover, this employee engagement initiative was also created to promote work-life integration, and extend a hand in building rewarding experiences that helps our employees widen their reach and networks outside of their usual working environment and give back to the community through fund raising events.

“What makes the A-Club program standout from other club programs is that this is purely a TM-led initiative that has grown and is continuing to grow in terms of active members across the group. The fact that we have come up with more clubs and even more members supports the #OneAboitiz direction of the group. I am confident that on it’s 3rd year, this program will continue to increase employee engagement, even through digital channels, and continue to be an example of living the core value of Teamwork and Responsibility through their CSR initiatives within our A-People.”

More Clubs For #OneAboitiz

Earlier in the year, A-Club opened its doors once again for new club applications. After the screening and interview process, a total of 17 official clubs will be making waves this year to make work-life integration more interesting.

To welcome our new A-Clubs, you may find their profile cards below and get in touch with their representatives if you see a club that fits your interest.

I was really surprised to see A-people who have the same passion and advocacy as mine. We are not just seeing the beauty underneath the ocean but also these A+Divers are eager to educate more A-people on Marine Life Conservation and eyeing on a plastic free ocean someday.

One thing I love about the A-club program  is that it encompasses employee engagement and CSR. A-people across the group, with the same passion and interests—as simple as the love for food—come together to discuss and work on projects that are really close to their hearts, and to do fundraisers for the company’s CSR efforts. It is very purposive, feeds our souls and warms our hearts.

2019 Report Cards

On it’s 2nd year, the A-Clubs have once again impressed by totaling 442 hours of engagement, having 289 active employee members, and raising a total of Php 215,563 from their fundraising efforts, which were donated to Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. for the Annual Christmas Outreach and other donation drives to help the community.

Joining A-Club creates a new vision in me. Aside from getting along really well with my club members, our learning and experiences will definitely help us advance our skills. Sewing is one of my hobbies now, hopefully I’d be able to learn more and do more projects in the future.

Kristyl Angela Labiano, Sew Very Happy

Being an A-Club member enables me to further improve my social skills through frequent collaboration with club and team members from across the different SBUs. The experience helps me better understand how to come-up with a middle ground or agreement in setting-up activities as compared to just compromising, in a way you can say that it has given me an opportunity to be in another person’s shoe and see situations from different perspectives and appreciate their point-of-view.

Jodo Fernandez, A-Balleros

I have always loved Music that’s why I am so lucky to be a part of a club with people who have the same passion.  Musik-A’s jamming sessions and live performances over the years have not only polished our talents but have also strengthened our bond as a group. Cheesy as it may sound, we began as club mates but ended up becoming a family.

Raymund Serrano, Musik-A

With 17 clubs in the bag, the program is continuously branching out and extending its doors to other business units under the Aboitiz Group and continuing to welcome A-People to join clubs they are interested in. The A-Club program aims to continue the momentum of having high employee engagement levels for year 3!
