NAGKAKAISA SA BRIGADA ESKWELA: Team member volunteers from City Savings Bank – Calapan Branch donate painting materials at one of its beneficiary schools for 2026 Brigada Eskwela in Oriental Mindoro.
City Savings Bank (CitySavings), the thrift subsidiary of Aboitiz-led Union Bank of the Philippines, continues to help educators and learners through its education-focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. In partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the Bank reaffirmed its mission to enhance learning spaces for over 240 schools nationwide by painting, performing minor repairs, and donating cleaning materials and other learning and teaching resources through its close to 500 employee volunteers, in time for the new school year.
For the 2026 Brigada Eskwela national kick-off last June 1, CitySavings President and CEO Manuel G. Santiago, Jr. joined Education Secretary Sonny Angara at Cabadbaran City National High School in Agusan del Norte in signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) and ceremonial turnover of donations along with other government agencies and private stakeholders.

Also in support of Aboitiz Foundation’s AuroraPH, CitySavings donated flat-screen televisions to aid digital learning for the teachers and students of Ansili Elementary School in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
“At City Savings Bank, our mission has always been rooted in the welfare of public servants and their families. Teachers are at the heart of what we do, and supporting the schools where they dedicate their lives is not just a corporate responsibility; it is a deeply personal one. Brigada Eskwela is an opportunity for us to give back in a tangible, hands-on way,” shared CitySavings President and CEO Manuel G. Santiago, Jr.
Since 2008, CitySavings has supported DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela and, year after year, scaled its support, driven by employee volunteerism across its nationwide branch network. The Bank’s initiatives to help advance quality education were recognized by DepEd at a partners’ appreciation ceremony last May 8 at Mandaluyong City.
CitySavings has expanded its commitment beyond general repairs and beautification by supporting AuroraPH, Aboitiz Foundation’s flagship education initiative. Aboitiz Foundation provided solar power and internet connectivity to Ansili Elementary School, a last-mile learning institution for the Mamanwa Indigenous Peoples (IP) community in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte. Additionally, CitySavings donated brand-new flat-screen TVs to enhance digital learning for teachers and students during the turnover event on June 1.
Through education support, financial inclusion, and community engagement, City Savings Bank remains committed to being a force for positive and lasting change in every community where it operates.
