On July 30–31, 2026, the Aboitiz Group brought together risk professionals from 10 Business Units for the Pan-Asia Risk & Insurance Management Association (PARIMA)-RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP) Exam Preparation Workshop. The two-day program aimed to strengthen enterprise risk management capabilities while preparing participants to pursue the globally recognized RIMS-CRMP certification.
As part of the Group’s commitment to the continuous improvement of risk management capabilities, Aboitiz leveraged the strength of #OneAboitiz to secure PARIMA-RIMS support, making the internationally recognized certification program more accessible to risk professionals across the organization.
The workshop was facilitated by Steve Tunstall, Co-Founder of PARIMA and the Captive Insurance Association Singapore, and Tin Kempeneers, a resource speaker and trainer associated with PARIMA, the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines, and the Asian Institute of Management. Tin also previously served as Head of Group Risk Management at AEV.
Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and case studies, participants strengthened their knowledge across the five competency domains of the RIMS-CRMP framework: analyzing organizational models, designing risk strategies, implementing risk processes, developing organizational risk competency, and supporting risk-informed decision-making.
Beyond certification preparation, the workshop reinforced a common risk management language and strengthened collaboration across business units. Participants particularly valued the facilitators’ complementary perspectives, with Tin breaking down core concepts and Steve drawing on his extensive practical and institutional experience. They also appreciated revisiting fundamentals, including organizational structures and the human element, as essential foundations for managing risk effectively.
The session forms part of the Aboitiz Group’s ongoing investment in building a strong risk culture through continuous learning, collaboration, and capability development. As risk professionals move forward in their RIMS-CRMP certification journey, the Group continues to strengthen its ability to navigate uncertainty, make better decisions, and create long-term value as a unified, synergetic organization.
