Here in Aboitiz, our drive to create a more responsible organization towards our community continues to be a growing passion. That is why even during a pandemic where physical volunteer programs are put on hold for the safety of everyone, our commitment to give back pushes us to be more creative in reaching out to our communities.
One of the new initiatives under Aboitiz Foundation is the Aboitiz Beyond Classrooms (ABC), it is an online learning session for scholars and parents that aims to educate on topics that will help them thrive especially in the new normal. This was launched in August 2020 and had 7 episodes as of date. Previous sessions include building resilience under the new normal, youth’s role in sustainability and climate change, and continuous self improvement.
Aboitiz Beyond Classrooms (ABC) also aims to increase Aboitiz team member’s volunteerism by serving as speakers on its sessions. ABC started to engage Aboitiz’ interest-based organizations called A-Clubs last year. A-Club’s participation in ABC also serves as their CSR activity that is required to renew and maintain their A-Club. Some of the participating A-Clubs include Likhaan, A-Divers, and A-Balleros North Luzon Chapter.
An ABC Session hosted by an A-Club A-Balleros member, Daryl Homer Ramos, Senior Manager-Maintenance, SNAP Magat, was held last March 27, 2021 (Saturday) which gave focus on the topic “Time Management during the period of Virtual Classroom Learning”. His session focused on giving tips to students on how to avoid time-wasters and finish a lot of tasks within the day. The ABC was live streamed via Aboitiz Foundation’s Facebook Page.
A-Club’s A-Balleros* is one of the interest groups formed under the A-Club Program, where employees are encouraged to create, join, and interact with to increase employee belongingness and employee engagement.
