Last February 24, UBX Philippines held its quarterly town hall, ConX: NEXT, bringing employees together to connect, engage, and align on the company’s vision for the year ahead. ConX, a play on the word “Connects,” is UBX’s quarterly townhall where the entire team comes together to stay informed, inspired, and aligned with the organization’s direction.

With the theme NEXT and the hashtag #WeShapeWhatsNext, the event highlighted UBX’s commitment to innovation, growth, and leadership in the industry. It was a celebration of the company’s progress and ambitions, setting the stage for its journey toward 2025.

John Januszczak, President and CEO of UBX Philippines, delivered a compelling talk on the company’s strategic direction for 2025. He also highlighted what makes UBX truly unique among technology companies in the Philippines—its exceptional shareholders.

“We are owned by the one of the best banks in the Philippines, UnionBank. At the same time, we are backed by SBI Group of Japan, the largest fintech conglomerate in Japan.” he shared.

This strong foundation not only gives UBX a competitive edge but also sets it apart as one of the few technology companies regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). This unique position reinforces UBX’s credibility, stability, and ability to drive meaningful innovation.

Key company leaders also graced the event, including Union Bank of the Philippines President and CEO Ana Aboitiz-Delgado and Aboitiz Group Chief Financial Officer and UBX Chairman of the Board Jose Emmanuel "Toto" Hilado. Both delivered inspiring messages that reinforced UBX’s strategic direction and underscored the strong support within the Aboitiz Group.

Adding a global perspective, Shunichi Keida, SBI Holding's Chief Representative in the Philippines and UBX Board Member, shared his confidence in UBX’s ability to drive meaningful change, further emphasizing the company’s role in shaping the future of financial technology.

To close the event on a high note, UBX proudly launched its first-ever internal employee magazine, NEXT: The Playground of Game Changers! This exciting new publication highlights UBXers who embody the true spirit of innovation—those who don’t just go with the flow but create real impact. Fondly known as Game Changers, these individuals don’t just keep up with change; they help drive it forward, inspiring others to push boundaries, challenge the status quo, and shape what’s next for UBX.
