AboitizPower forged a partnership with Mapua University through a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the development of Power Systems 101 learning modules.
The new modules were designed for local government officials and regulators, community leaders, business partners, and educators. AboitizPower will use them in the conduct of onsite learning sessions to enhance energy literacy and promote informed dialogues on power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Focusing on the technical, operational, and engineering components of the Philippine power system, the project builds on AboitizPower’s previous Power 101 series with the University of the Philippines Los Baños, which centered on the system’s economic and financial aspects.
“This initiative is a strategic step to reach out to our stakeholders by creating a platform for sharing knowledge and information,” said AboitizPower First Vice President for External Relations Jason Magnaye, forming part of the Company’s continuous efforts to foster a shared understanding of the Philippine energy landscape.
AboitizPower will bring industry expertise in this partnership, while Mapua will be in charge of making sure the academic framework is there in upskilling and capacitating our [stakeholders],” explained Mapua President and CEO Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo.
