COVID-19 Situation Gives Rise To A New Kind Of #OneAboitiz

2020 opened like a Pandora’s Box with the eruption of the Taal Volcano and now, the COVID-19 pandemic. Aboitiz is no stranger when it comes to challenges but this time, the rubber meets the road for the #OneAboitiz mantra.

During SMA’s first SuperDuperCon appearance as the new Aboitiz Group president, he expounded on #OneAboitiz — that is having a mindset of working together as one, regardless of what SBU or BU an A-Person belongs to.

Now, #OneAboitiz extends as a groupwide battle cry to encourage A-People to think of their efforts — simply not as personal accomplishments that are an end in itself — but as significant contributions to a much larger campaign to advance the company’s purpose, live out the company’s core values, and deliver on our brand promise.

Despite having a diverse portfolio of industries, offering distinct products and services, we remain united to drive change for a better world by advancing business and communities. As Group President and CEO Sabin Aboitiz shared on #OneAboitiz, “You are always stronger together than apart, in everything you do.”

As of April 15, 2020, the Aboitiz Group has accumulated Php216.4 million donations, including team member-led drives and personal contributions, to provide assistance to COVID-19 frontliners nationwide and support local and national initiatives.

Through its participation in the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF)-led “Project Ugnayan”, Aboitiz’s donation has reached over 5.4 million families or over 7.6 million individuals (as of April 14) displaced in the Greater Metro Manila Area. The donations were translated in the form of grocery vouchers distributed through Caritas Manila.

Since the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), our BUs have been doing their initiatives to alleviate both the lives of its team members and their respective customers:
